Loneliness already affects one in every five people in industrialised countries, like a silent pandemic. This is a structural, pervasive problem of the first order, occurring in both rural and urban environments, among older and younger people, with a huge social cost in terms of health and quality of life.

Human Film Library is a collection of micro-documentaries created in collaboration with people suffering from loneliness. Each individual produces a piece that reflects their daily life, and hence their perception of the world.

As a whole, they offer a multifaceted perspective on the experience of people who suffer or have been afflicted by different forms of loneliness. The creation of these documentary eyewitness accounts not only generates knowledge and awareness of the issue, but also serves as a direct source for the information used to create the text of the stage show 52 hertz / 52 hercios.

Both projects form part of the work undertaken by Derechos Humanos a Escena / Giza Eskubideak Eszenara (ddhhaescena.com).
